Just installed Acme Weather, new Dark Sky:

It's very simple, no configuration of widgets, but it shows everything I want in the "More" tab.

I've been using CARROT, which is very configurable, but also really goofy with the evil AI gag and minigames, and I don't trust their Accuweather data so much.

2 week trial, so I'll see how it compares until then.

Asshole old party were just charging ahead on Red Mage's support, which is a thing I was well familiar with in FFXI, why I switched to DPS only.

New party are using good dungeon strategy, tapping the floor for traps, rest at each floor, not dumbasses running ahead. He has too much OP stuff, as high-Levels do.

When I went book shopping in the '90s, I was *serious*.

I highly recommend all 4 of those books, tho Islands in the Net is pretty slow and pointless.

Early 1996, so still doing OS/2 and buying books*; later that year or early next I went to fighting with Linux drivers all the time.

@anttipeltola@mastodon.world @art@mastodon.sdf.org Concur. System 8, or even 7, was a lot more coherent, well-designed, and stable. System 9 existed as stop-gap against Windows and Linux until they could make Mac OS X, and it's very buggy. Mac OS X got good at 10.3, 10.4 is peak, then downhill slide in 10.5-10.6 and beyond.

@mjdxp Oh no. Back in the day I worked with some ex-MS people from X-Box Live Arcade, which I always abbreviated to NAMBLA (because of the Daily Show, which at that time was "news"). They were unamused by my joke, which just made me do it more. Now we know it's actually true.

@santi @muito_pelo Seems to work fine in Lagrange, but didn't work in Lynx. Lynx says it's using Charset: iso-8859-1 But since it shows two chars for each extended character, maybe the site IS sending in UTF-8? #gopher
